Description
This is a fascinating two-session workshop series with a separate open performance
by the participants. It will help your teen(s) to learn how to express their inner
feelings and build their self confidence.
They will learn:
• Learn about different poetry styles including slam poetry
• Write poems for a performance.
• Find out about creativity and tools to help you be more creative.
• Use your dreams for inspiration.
• Create a chapbook of your work.
• Multi-lingual poets welcome.
• The final session will be a performance.
Hosts will be selected from the poetry group.
Target Group
13+ years old.

3 days, 10 - 12 pm, August 11 - 13
Pre-requisites
An interest in poetry and/or writing.
Teacher’s Bio
Ariadne Sawyer,
M.A. (C. P.) is a Creativity Consultant who specializes
in enhancing performance and creative projects. She has worked with poets, writers,
musicians, screenwriters and performers from Canada, the US and Europe. She has
been a teacher and has directed two schools. Ariadne is the co-founder and co- host
of The World Poetry Reading Series, World Poetry Café Radio Show, The World Poetry
Electronic Newsletter with over 300 poets from 61 countries including a strong Canadian
presence.
