The Shakespeare Playground for Teens
T
EEN AS YOU LIKE IT INTENSIVE
Description:
The Shakespeare Playground, a critically-acclaimed children’s and teens’ theatre
program now in its 11th year, arrives at Queens Park this August featuring Shakespeare’s
well-loved comedy, AS YOU LIKE IT.
Teen ensemble members learn acting and stagecraft techniques, cast themselves in
scenes from As You Like It, and explore the play using improv, costumes, props,
music, and fight choreography. Ensemble-oriented rehearsals culminate in a final
performance.
A fun class for both beginners and experienced teen actors. A field trip to view
a local production of the play will enhance students’ understanding of artistic
interpretation.
Older students may apply to work as Youth Mentors for the AS YOU
LIKE IT for Kids program running the following week.
Target Group:
Age 12 and older may apply.
