The Melodious Mandolins
The Melodious
Mandolins opened the entertainment at the Benefit Show for
the New Westminster Humane Society held at the Sapperton
Pensioners' Hall in Historic Sapperton in Oct., which began
our winter season.
We certainly had
our ups and downs, as we would be booked and then cancelled,
due to the icy and snowy weather we were having. However, we
did perform at Minoru Care Centre, early part of Dec. and at
the Dufferin Care Centre in Coquitlam on New Years' Eve day
(in the afternoon) We did the whole routine, the countdown,
whistle blowing, pot banging, and balloon breaking, then we
played and sang "Auld Lang Seine. It was sure fun and we
didn't have to stay up 'till mid-night. We ended January by
playing at the Royal City Centre for their "Festival of
Volunteers". We're always delighted to play there as the
audience is so enthusiastic. This venue is only one of our
public appearances to which we're invited.
You might like
to know that we've been invited to play with the "Seattle
Mandolin Orchestra" at Seattle's FOLKFEST, held every year at
the end of May. We'll be playing on May 28th . Hope to see
you there. Musically yours... Nadia Anderson for the
'Melodious Mandolins'
PS We're
still looking for mandolin, mandola, guitar and bass players.
WHERE ARE YOU?- we're waiting.
